According to the legend, King Bhoj was a great ruler of the Paramara dynasty who ruled in the region of present-day Madhya Pradesh, India, around 1010-1055 CE. As the story goes, King Bhoj wanted to build a magnificent Shiv Temple in his capital city of Dhar. However, every time he tried to build the temple, the walls would collapse before they could be completed. This happened several times, and the king was at a loss as to what to do. One day, a group of craftsmen approached the king and offered to help him build the temple. They told the king that they would build the temple at night, and the king would not be allowed to enter the temple until it was completed. The king agreed to the craftsmen's conditions, and they began to build the temple. However, the king became impatient and decided to sneak into the temple one night to see the progress. When he entered the temple, he saw that the craftsmen were actually ghosts and spirits who were building the temple with supernatural powers. The king was afraid and immediately left the temple. The next day, when he returned to the site, he saw that the temple was complete, but the entrance was sealed shut. The king realized that the spirits had kept their promise and had built the temple for him. The old Shiv Temple built by King Bhoj is said to be located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, India. However, there is no concrete evidence to support the legend, and the actual location and existence of the temple remain a mystery.
