DIVINE  ADORNMENTS  OR  VESHA    OF    LORD   JAGANNATH  (  LORD  OF  THE  UNIVERSE  )

The  three deities  (  Lord  Jagannath ,  Balabhadra  and  Goddess  Subhadra  )  are  dressed  with  clothings , robes  etc.   called  vastra singhara   ,
with  flowers  and  floral  designs  called  puspa  singhara   and  with  various  ornaments  called  alankara  singhara  .  In  their  daily  vesha  different 
colored  silks  are  used  .  Red , creamy with  black  spots   ,  silk  with  five  colors  ,  sky  blue silk  , yellow  silk , white  silk  and  violet  colored   silken  robes  are  offered  to  the  deities  respectively  from  Sunday  to  Saturday  .

       The  deities  remain  anointed  with  sandalwood  paste  during  the  Chandan  Yatra  . During  the  Snana  Purnima  they  appear  like  Ganesha  with  elephant  make up .  On  scheduled  days  the  deities  appear  in  Padma  Vesha  ,  Suna  Vesha  or  Bada  Tadhua  Vesha  and  also  on  the  Vijay  Dashami  , Kartika  Purnima  ,  Dola  Purnima  and  Pousa  Purnima  .  Banabhoji  Vesha  (  being  dressed  as a   cowherd  boy  as  that  of  Gopa- Krishna  )   is  observed  on  the  Bhadra  krushna  dashami   ,  Kaliyadalana  Vesha  ( Bhadra  Krushna  ekadasi  )  ,  Pralambasuravadha  Vesha   (  the  day   following  )  ;  Krushna-Balarama   Vesha  (  the  day  following  the  previous  Vesha  )  ,  Vamana  Vesha  ( Bhadra  Shukla  dwadashi  )  , Raja  Vesha (  on  Dashahara )  ,  Radha-Damodara Vesha  (  from  Aswina  Shukla ekadashi  to  Kartika  Shukla  dashami  )  ,  Harihara  Vesha  where  Balabhadra  looks  half  Vishnu  and  half  Shiva  ,  Laxmi-Narayan  Vesha  or  Thiakia  Vesha  (  Kartika  shukla  ekadashi  )  ,  Bankachuda  Vesha  
(  the  day  following  the  previous )  , Adakia  Vesha  (  the  day  following  the  previous  )  .  Dalikia  Vesha  (  the  day  following  )  .  Nagarjuna  Vesha  
(  when  Panchaka observance  in  the  month  of  Kartika  exceeds  five  days  )  , Rajarajeswara  Vesha  (  on  Kartika  Purnima  )  ,  Ghodalagi  Vesha  
(  putting  on  winter  clothings  )  ,  Shraddha   Vesha  (  during  Deva  Deepavali   for  3  days  )  ,  Chacheri   Vesha  (  sporting  in  phagu  in  Phalguna  
from  shukla  dashami  except  chaturdasi  -  5  days  )  ,  Gaja  Uddharana  Vesha  (  Magha  Purnima  )  and  Raghunatha  Vesha  .
       There  are  other  Veshas   too  total   numbering  thirtytwo  ,  but  the  above  mentioned  are  important  ones  .
