Honesty
Honesty is based on truthfulness . Honesty is one of the good qualities . An honest behavior means a behavior free from cheat and deceit and also free from all kinds of evil motive .
It is said , “ Honesty is the best policy “ . Because if we are honest , people will believe us . They will give value to our words and dealings .An honest shop-keeper will fetch more customers than the dishonest one . An honest man will always prosper . He is respected by all . He has always a position in the society . He fares in all walks of life .
We can deal honesty only with the honest people . But we will be in trouble , if we deal honesty with dishonest people. A saying is there in this case which is like this :
"tit for tat ". Dishonesty should be met with dishonesty . It may sweet to speak that it is idealistic to deal honestly with dishonest people . But the noble thinking is not practicable in every case .
The modern society is the dwelling of black-marketing , hoarding ,profiteering , adulterating , cheating , deceiving and defrauding . Here, mud-slinging and leg-pulling are the order of the way. In this case , honesty has it’s limitation .
Honesty is such a virtue that if all people become honest , then our society will be an ideal one. Everybody should try to become honest in their day-to-day life .

An other Example Of Honesty
Everybody knows that truth pervades all and it is a habit to tell the truth. We must follow it at any cost .
It is this connection , the old story is worth recalling .
The axe ( short iron piece to cut mainly wood ) of a wood-cutter fell into the river while he was engaged in cutting branches of a tree. The poor fellow began to cry and prayed to God to help him. Then the water-God came out of water with a golden axe and offered it to the distressed wood-cutter. But the latter refused to accept it since it was not his own . Next the water-God came with a silver axe and temptingly offered it to the wood-cutter . Again , the poor fellow declined . At last , the iron axe was offered to him and he gladly and gratefully accepted it . God blessed him and gave him all the three .
The moral of the story is that God always rewards the person who tells the truth .
