Role Of Social Media In The Coming Elections

Role Of Social Media In The Coming Elections
Role Of Social Media In The Coming Elections
The use of internet is spreading unimaginably throughout the World. China has the largest number of internet users (above 320m), USA has second (260m) and India, third (213m). With this, the revolution of social media is also remarkable. Different powerful social media are face book ( about 1.1b users), twitter ( about 200m users), Linked in ( about 200m users ), g+ ( about 500m users), Pinterest ( about 100m users), MySpace( about 30m users), Instagram ( about 150m users), YouTube etc.

Seventy three percent of the internet users use different social media. Ninety percent of social media users are the youths of age between 18 and 29 years. Most of them express their views about different topics along with photos and videos. The increase in the use of cell phones and smart phones eases the activities in social media.

In order to motivate the youth during the coming elections, social media will play a vital role. All the political parties will depend on it undoubtedly. The days of door to door campaign, distribution of leaflets are gone. The survey process becomes easier. The most important thing is that one can reach a large audience with a single post. It takes less time, less effort and little or no cost. It can spread to millions of people through shares, re shares, tweets, re tweets, pins and re pins within no times. It is not only important to use social media in this context but also necessary.

Recently in the 5 states where election process ended, political parties using social media came out to be successful in comparisons to others.

Success  Stories

barack obamaBarack Obama
It is proved that President the US, Barack Obama, has become successful with the use of this in his election campaign. He arranged a special budget for that purpose. He did his research how people use social media, and he approached them accordingly. He created different communities of people of equal interests and won their hearts through emotional speech on a later moment. He collected email addresses and phone numbers from their social accounts and touched them technically. He targeted the youths of age between 18 to 24 years who cover 83% social media sites and got their votes successfully.

boris johnsonBoris Johnson
Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, elected to the post through using social media extensively. He reached his followers through blogs and exchanging views with them with this. He even collected his election expenditures from this.

narendra modiNarendra Modi
Narendra Modi, the Prime ministerial candidate of his party in the coming General election of India, has a large number of followers in twitter and face book. Twitter plays a vital role for the Modi’s wave in the country.

rahul gandhiRahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi has also not left any stone unturned in this matter. It is rumored that he would take the assistance of a Japanese company for his propaganda through social media

Honesty;  From Shastriji  To  Arvind  Kejriwal

CM Arvind Kejriwal
Among our leaders and freedom fighters, there was some greatness in Lal Bahadur Shastri. Before the departure of physical body, he served as the second Prime Minister of free India for a short period. Throughout his life he illustrated qualities which are unthinkable on the part of modern leaders.

He belonged to a poor Brahmin family from UP. He struggled throughout his life right from childhood and never thought of power or wealth till his end. And yet, the same (power and respect) flew to him due to his honesty and dedication. There were two separate tragic train accidents (one in Tamilnadu and other in AndhraPradesh) during his tenure as railway minister in 1956. It was a great shock to him. Though there was no way he was connected with it, he submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

After the death of Govind Vallabh Pont, he became Home minister in 1961. At that time he had no personal house of his own. “The Homeless Minister” as called by people, had only a rented house in Allahabad at that time.

During the struggle for freedom movements, he was sent to prison several times. When he was in, there were two unfortunate events, which proved his truthfulness. First, at that time, one of his daughters was seriously ill. The prison authority agreed to let him go home for a short time. They asked him to give in writing that he should not indulge in the freedom movement during that period. He denied that saying it was against his self-respect. As the prison officials knew about his honesty, they set him free for a fortnight. Unfortunately, his daughter died before his arrival. After the funeral rites he returned to prison before the expiry of leave. In another tragic incident, his son was laid up with influenza. He was permitted unconditionally to go home for a week only. His son’s condition remained as such and his leave was complete. Shastriji bade farewell and left home for prison. Those were the examples reflecting how Shastriji was true to his words throughout his life.

The days of Gandhiji, Nehruji and Shastriji were gone. We learnt about them from our parents, teachers and books only.

Now the present days belong to the leaders like Arvind Kejriwal. He is the first Chief Minister to refuse security on the ground that there should be only provisional security for leaders. He surprised everybody not shifting to the official residence of the CM. On the wake of the issue, the question is raised whether he would be able to live up to his own moral standards for long. Because the West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee, too began on an austerity note but, over a period of time, she was a victim of pressure and accepted the office.

Ministers in India may not be having fabulous salaries, but the perks they enjoy in terms of accommodation, travel, staffs and others are so huge that even the billionaires of the world cannot match.

We have witnessed how Shastriji was one in a billion because of his honesty. So we cannot rule out why Kejriwal would not stick to his pledge to be so.

About Indian Currency

rupee depreciates against dollar
Rupee Depreciates against Dollar
The Indian Rupee tanks by a massive 106 paisa to close at the all-time low of 60.72 for the first time against dollar on heavy capital outflows and month-end dollar demand from importers, even as RBI intervenes to stem the currency slide, last month. Again on 8th July , 2013, the INR plunges to an all-time low of 61.21 per USD.

In the International market, there are always ups and downs of share prices, indices, commodity prices and currencies .But during last few months, the unimaginable fall of the INR against USD, creates havoc in our minds. Though the USD remains strong against any other currency in the World, the situation is unlike against INR. The damage of INR is the worst of all currencies. No Indian economist has ever thought of such a poor performance of INR. Nobody has thought of INR depreciating to bellow 1/60 of USD.It is still depreciating lower.

The historic fall of the value of INR happens at such a time, when the country has a number of other economic difficulties.

While the recession of the US is cooling down and coming to an end and the Federal Reserve Bank decides to withdraw the packages, the International currency market becomes volatile from last few sessions.

The after-effect of currency market is also reflected in all Indian shares and commodities. India imports about 70-80% of the domestic consumption of crude oil from other countries for which it has to pay the cost in the form of Dollars .The sudden fall of the value of INR against USD creates a rise of prices of petroleum and petroleum related products. There is a rise of price of petrol and diesel and its spiral effect is observed in other prices.Auto, taxi, byke, transport, vegetables, foods, fruits and all consumer durables become costlier.

We, the citizens of free India , are so unfortunate that after such a long period of our independence ,we cannot self-dependant on food and oil production .We import the most from other countries and pay them in dollars .Directly or indirectly , its bills are paid by the consumers. The upper middle class families labor hard to get their income and send their children abroad for higher studies, which becomes impossible day by day .To go for a vacation to other countries becomes a dream only.

The sectors, which import instruments ,machineries and its parts have to pay more .So laptops, computers, refrigerators, TVs and A/Cs are to cost more .In the name of cost reduction , those sectors have to cut off manpower ,which ultimately create unemployment .Even numbers of sector stop to exist.

According to the circular dated 28th June 2013, from RBI, the foreign debt of the nation during 2012-13, is 390 billion dollars which is increased by 13% on year to year basis.

In economy, it is a fact that when goods are costlier, the consumer buys a minimum. If the condition worsens, it creates stagflation. Perhaps India goes through that phase.

From the last so many years, there has been no such remarkable increase in export of domestic items. Added to the crisis, there is a fall of foreign exchange, coming through the working Indian mass abroad.

If the situation remains like this, the situation of the 90’s would not be far away.

Analysts find the following 5 major steps to curb the situation.

1. We should try to utilize our own minerals like coal and stop importing them.

2. We should find and utilize the oil reserves of our land.

3. We should stop importing Gold.

4. We should make an environment to attract FII.

5. We should try to stop rupee depreciation.

Shirdi Sai Baba
The present age, according to the Hindu Literature, is known as “ Kaliyug” or the era of quarrel. The main deity of this period is Lord Shiva , the God who can destroy everything and also save everything from destroy. This time there are two studies, science and religion, which are somewhat opposite to each other .Perhaps the end of science is the beginning of religion .The study of science is progressive and the study of religion is continuous. Knowledge, science and the Supreme Soul are all infinite. Though it is sited, there would not be an end to the knowledge. Root of every religion is the knowledge inside it’s Holy Book, like the Vedas, which is progressive. But the religion is not impartial. Einstein has proved the relative aspects of time and space .In the Vedas, it is mentioned that truth, nonviolence etc. are also like this.  Truth is not always truth and nonviolence can become violence.

God is omnipresent. He is not secret. He is transparent. We don’t have to find Him for surrender us at His feet.

What I want to write is something about Shirdi Sai Baba. He is believed by a long list of His followers as the incarnation of Lord Shiva. He started His journey as an ordinary person, even like a beggar. He lived like a saint and numerous people worshipped Him as God. His living style influenced everyone. He could transform people from atheist to spiritualist. He made people leave bad habits like taking alcohols, visiting theatres and wrong places. He saved people from distress and dangers. He could stop people throwing their anger to other religious idols and philosophers. People believe in Him and achieve success in different fields through His blessings. He has been a spiritual teacher since a long period.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba
Sathya Sai Baba was born in Puttaparthi, a small village in South India, on 23rd November, 1926. On 23rd May 1940, he declared himself to be known as Sai Baba, there after.

He left his mortal body on 24th April 2011. He did so before the date, he declared. He left a huge mass of fortunes behind him. He did not tell much to his followers about his departure taken place .For the first and last time, he appeared with folded hands before his followers, while he was on his way to Sri Sathya Sai Super Specialty Hospital, just a few days before his final departure .

He made the proclamation that he would die at the age of 96 and after 6 years of his death, he would appear as Prem Sai. He had a large number of disciples over the globe. He, like most of the God men, stressed on the philosophy of Godliness inside every body. He used to materialize bibhuti (holy ash ),golden rings and necklaces out of space .

He established schools, colleges and Universities and educated his fellow boys and girls without charging fees from them . According to him , the end of education is character and the end of knowledge is love .Another remarkable deed , Sai Baba did during his life time was the construction of Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital , near Prasanti Nilayam . Here he served the people by giving medical treatments for very critical illness ( like open heart surgery and kidney transplants ) without any cost .People will remember him for ever for such kind of jobs .He was with a heart of compassion and generosity to give water to a thirsty one, to take care of the ill one and to show the path to a wayward. He dedicated himself to help everybody at their need .He proved that he would remain above the form of a mere human and character.  Rather ,he would be remembered always as a spiritual leader and a spiritual teacher .

A  Day When Everything Went Wrong .

2/8/2013

My niece Madhumita faced an accident while she was on the way to appear in her examination .
Later , she narrated the event at the essay competition in her college entitled " A  Day When
Everything Went Wrong "  and  was awarded  as  the best  .

Here is the story for my friends .

It was a fine Saturday morning. I got up in haste. Quickly I got ready for my school. It was 7.05 am and my mother shouted at me for not taking my breakfast properly. However I ran to my bus stop and to my utter misfortune the bus had already left. I was literally breathless. I couldn’t afford to go a single minute late in my maths examination. Again I ran to my house and luckily my brother was there to take me to my school. I thanked God for that and bidding goodbye to my mother we both went to school. On the way we saw huge mass gathering for there took place an accident. My brother stopped there for a while. I actually didn’t want him to go and inspect the matter. Rather I said him to take another route. He managed to take me by another way. Suddenly my eye fell on my watch and I saw there were fifteen more minutes for our examination to start. I just closed my eyes and prayed that I would be able to attend my examination properly. My brother asked me not to worry and assured that we would reach school in just five minutes. He raised the pin of the speedometer to 80 .I took a deep breath of relaxation as I could see my school in front of my eyes. Then suddenly two dogs rushed to the middle of the road fighting strenuously. My brother failed to control the speed and ultimately one of the dogs came between the two wheels of our bike. Our bike got hashed on the wall. My head got banged on a stone. But still then I was uttering “my examination, my examination!!”My brother was bleeding profusely. But he managed to take a lift from a van. I got admitted in the Hospital and had facial paralysis for some time. Seriously if I had to remember the worst day of my life then it would be none other than 4th January 2010.I felt so bad that I couldn’t even express my feelings in words. The whole year I worked so hard and at the end I got promotion to the next class on the basis of a medical certificate. But I thanked God for keeping me and my brother safe.

                                                                                                 -------     Madhumita

Merry Christmas 2012
On 25th  December , Christians all over the globe  celebrate" Christmas day ". Christianity is a world religion . Christian people are found in all countries . They preach "Jessus Christ ". Jessus Christ was the saviour of mankind like Lord Ram, Sri Krishna ,Buddha ,Mahavir and Mohammed . As Hindus celebrate the birthbay of Lord Ram , Sri Krishna or the muslims celebrate the birthday of Mohammed and Buddhists and Jains celebrate the birthdays of their own Gods , in the same way , the birthday of Jessus Christ is celebrated by christians with great religious fervour .
Jessus Christ was born to Mary in a stable , on the day. There was a prior indication of his birth . It was described in their holy book that an unusually bright star appeared in the sky and it's divine light illumined the whole being of Mary . A son was born with a message that he was not an ordinary one . He was the incarnation of God and he would save mankind from sins and lead them to live the life of truth and love .
When he grew up into manhood , he preached his message of love and universal brotherhood among the people . It is also mentioned that he did so many wonders while spreading the message of brotherhood .
His cruel king became intolerant of his popularity .He and his men tortured him and crucified him in public .According to divine decree , the Resurrection was took place on Easter . Thereafter he went round the world preaching his principles and doing good to people with acts of wonder.
On Chistmas day , christians illuminate the christmas trees with colored lights and also with many decorations . They attend churches and offer mass prayers to Jessus Christ .
The day passes off in ecstasies .
